User-friendly database for your home accessibility needs

Cleveland State University’s Master of Occupational Therapy Program has collaborated with Invacare, the world’s leading manufacturer of wheelchairs, to develop a user-friendly database for you to search accessible Electronic Aides for Daily Living (EADL's) to help you control your home environment.

Performing daily activities within the home can become difficult after injury or illness. Controlling one’s home environment can become almost impossible after a loss of function, from the confines of a wheelchair, or a combination of both. EADL's provide individuals faced with these challenges assistance in maintaining independence by giving them alternative methods to effectively control and monitor their home environment. EADL's are currently being used to control door locks, window shades, safety alerts, temperature, appliances and TV's. They also control electronic furniture, methods of communication, and a variety of other devices.

We have compiled a list of EADL's related to door and window locks, garage door systems, smoke alarms, smartphones, televisions, and other home security devices for you to browse.
